Nick at Literary Compass has tagged me with the Three Characters Meme. It goes like this:
Name up to three characters...
1. ...you wish were real so you could meet them:
- Jane Eyre
- Fitzwilliam Darcy
- Fanny Price (just to see how she manages to be so meek)
2. ...you would like to be:
- Jane Eyre
- Elizabeth Darcy (née Bennet)
- Anne Wentworth (née Elliot)
3. ...who scare you:
- Bertha Mason
- The Nazgûl
- Mrs. Danvers
This was actually a hard meme for me. I guess I don't think of literary characters in such a personal, interactive way. It doesn't occur to me to put myself into a story, which probably means I am at low risk of developing Manchegan Madness. Whew!
As for who's "it," I tag Imani (The Books of My Numberless Dreams), Stefanie (So Many Books,) and Wil (Moyen Âge).
