Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! It seems that bloggers have been digging into their family photo albums and posting great old pictures of their foremothers, so I thought I'd join in.
Here is my maternal great-grandmother surrounded by her daughters. I only ever met one of them, my great aunt, who is holding that cute little dog. If she is any indication, they were extremely loving women.

And here is my mother, on the right. That appears to be the Pyramid of the Sun behind them, so I guess this was during her tourist guide days. She apparently made quite a bit of money and had her own car, which intimidated the macho men around her. My father, son of a very independent businesswoman, was not in the least put off, and so here I am.
