It's been a while since I ran across some book-inspired art. Thanks to Patricia at BookLust for highlighting the "Beauty and the Book" online exhibit at The Israel Museum.
From the introduction:
Beauty and the Book focuses on the visual aspects of books, and suggests reading them as one "reads" a work of art. Like art, books are a mixture of matter and spirit, manual labor, thought, and creativity. They have shape, color, dimensions, substance, and other qualities, and the concept of beauty emerges from the different combinations and interactions of all these qualities.
Check out the amazing photographs of Idiom by Matej Kren posted at BookLust. If I'm not mistaken that artist's work is featured on the cover of Gabriel Zaid's So Many Books. Could this be the book storage solution we've all been waiting for?
